year after the opening of Myanmar ICT Park, which name changed to Myanmar info-Tech Complex, internet access available to public as a result of opening of internet café in private sector. On the other hand communication services of State-owned are improving dramatically including internet services. Myanmar has been connected since 1999 to an undersea fiber-optic cable which provides communication service cheaper than satellite communication. The fiber-optic cable links to 32 countries in Southeast Asian countries, the Middle East and Western Europe. In addition to Sea-Me-We (3) cable, satellite link is also available as international link. And for internal link, there is fiber link between Yangon and Mandalay as national backbone. For ICT development, Myanmar Post and Telecommunication is building the info-tech Complex and software incubator in Yadanabon Township, Pyin Oo Lwin. At once the project is completed; the hub of IT will be shifted from Yangon to Upper Myanmar. At present, draft of Cyber Law is completed and it will be implemented in near future. ICT development is progressing systematically and steadily. Soon, weakness such as weak infrastructure and inadequate legal framework will be vanished.
            Businessman will see the green light for investment in ICT field. There is more than enough human resource, so HRD business is a one of the opportunities in the field. The advantages of low labour cost and low development cost provide strong cost-quality value proportion. In turn, due to favorable living standard, ICT is considered as affordable by public and local demand will increase. To cope with the globalization and regionalization, ICT is essential for business organizations. For long term survive in the age of knowledge based new economies ICT is vital for business organization. At present, ICT development is in infant stage. But it will reach maturity rapidly under strong Cyber Law Regime. Increasing of local demand seems to be slow now, but there is great latent to expend. Like television, every home will use ICT after an internet access method is improved and bandwidth is increased. G Talk and G Mail will become daily usage for today's young generation
            For abroad market access, joint development with foreign investment or technology transfer may be easier way to approach the market. Joint development and effort on outsourcing projects from industrialized countries has great potential to provide opportunities to surf the high tide of ICT in near future.
